We are inviting submissions for our first Winter Open Call exhibition, PAPER — celebrating artworks both on paper and made from paper We are particularly looking for contemporary work using any media on paper or card. This may include drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, collage, -books, as well as 3D paper sculpture, and papier‑mâché. The Exhibition will be held in our new gallery space, in the centre of St Ives.

EXHIBITION DATES: 14th November  2026 – 8th January 2027

We invite artists based in the UK to submit work for our  Winter Open Call exhibition, PAPER — a celebration of contemporary artworks on or made with  paper or card.

The exhibition will run for just under two months, spanning the busy Christmas and New Year season in St Ives.

In an increasingly digital world, this exhibition highlights how traditional, tactile mediums continue to evolve — remaining fresh, relevant, and distinctly contemporary.

Artwork Requirements

We are inviting artists to submit up to three artworks for exhibition display. These may include:

• Ready‑to‑hang works on paper or card. Maximum size 90 cm in any direction inc any frame
• 3D sculptures made from card or paper  Ready to display on a plinth or shelf, or suitable for suspension. Maximum size 90 cm in any direction.
• There is no particular requirement for framing of work - as lone as we have clear instructions  for hanging and work is fully ready to hand.

In addition, artists may submit up to three unframed works for the browser. These should be wrapped, labelled, and suitable for placement in a browser or rack. Maximum size A3, including mount.

Barnoon Arts is an artist‑led space established in 2015 by Zoe Eaton and Peter Giles.

We recently moved into larger premises in the centre of St Ives.

Our new home was originally built as a Post Office in 1905, with our main exhibition room once serving as the mail‑sorting room.  We now offer exhibitions, classes, events, and a dedicated retail space.

Entry Fee

£10 entry fee, which includes:

• Up to 3 exhibition display works, and
• Up to 3 unframed browser works (A3 max)
• Guaranteed inclusion of at least one unframed browser work (A3 max).

Commission on sales: 30%.

• Closing date For Entries: 31 October
• Drop‑off accepted work: Sunday 8 Nov 2026 (Postal deliveries accepted)
• Private View: Saturday 14 Nov, 5–7pm.
• Collection of works: Saturday 9 Jan 2027

NOTES FOR SUBMISSION

Please submit your entries online first for selection. Successful works can then be delivered to the gallery.

You may drop off works in person or post them to us.

We will accept at least one unframed work from every entrant (suitable for display in our browser rack on a small shelf).  

Works will be selected according to fit with the exhibition, overall merit, and size considerations.

Due to limited space, smaller works have a higher likelihood of being accepted.
