We have all had experiences of times when we have felt welcome and the opposite. This is an open call inviting you to share an experience of when you either felt welcome or unwelcome, for an ongoing project to raise awareness of how well we welcome others, especially with migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in mind.

Your contribution will be shared (along with your name if you're happy for it to be included) on the 'You are Welcome' Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/youarewelcomeweareone

All written accounts welcome.

Alongside an interactive installation exploring this subject, I am gathering written accounts too, in the hope that sharing experiences and reading about others' will help us to be more reflective and welcoming as individuals and as a country.  This is especially at a time when migrants are being sent to Rwanda, contained on barges and evicted from hotels in UK.  Previously Brexit, and Covid seem to have freed right-wing voices and aggression.

This opportunity is an invitation to be part of a wave in the opposite direction.
