CuratorSpace and Axisweb team up

We’re always looking for ways to improve our service and to deliver more to our members. To this end, Curatorspace and Axisweb have teamed up in what they hope will be the first of many ventures. The current arrangement allows open calls listed on CuratorSpace to be automatically sent to Axisweb, where they can be reviewed and included in Axisweb listings.

“At Axisweb our Opportunity Service focuses on brokerage, connecting the call with the right artist.” says Mark Smith, Executive Director of Axisweb. “We do this by providing artists with a professional workspace to enable them to set preferences and personalise results.

“CuratorSpace complements what we do, by introducing a system to manage the administration of a call. I feel our collaboration with CuratorSpace has great potential to deliver better and more useful quality digital services.”

CuratorSpace has an open API that allows any opportunity listings site or service to access our opportunities free-of-charge. With this, Axisweb is able to access the information on these open calls and select those that would be appropriate for their members.

“This is an exciting step for CuratorSpace,” says Philip Bennison, Technical Director of CuratorSpace. “We’re keen to work in a cooperative fashion with arts organisations across the world in order to help support and develop tools and applications for the arts sector. We hope that this will be the the first step in a long and beneficial relationship.”

Axisweb offers a range of products and services that enable artists, producers and commissioners to work professionally and extend their reach. Axisweb offers tiered membership for artists including Opportunities Membership (from £1.50 per month) and Professional Membership (By application only).

Registering for CuratorSpace is free for artists, and paid curator subscriptions start at £5 per month to give curators access to a variety of additional functionality. You can find out more information what is offered and how you can start a paid subscription on the CuratorSpace website.
