CuratorSpace Artist Bursary #27

The CuratorSpace Artist Bursary is a quarterly award to support contemporary artists to develop their practice, The artists selected for CuratorSpace Artist Bursary #27 are Kenny Ros, Kerrie Hanna, Amy Jackson, and Chloe Monks.

Belgian artist and photographer, Kenny Ros uses a mixture of digital and handcrafted techniques. He will produce A day in the life of ancient Latvian oaks, a day to night depiction of monumental oaks in the Latvian countryside. The images will be alternated with continuous photo sequences of the Latvian landscape, and shown online and in a gallery setting.

Kerrie Hanna is a multi-disciplinary visual artist and professional glass painter, based in Vault Artist Studios in Belfast. She will use the bursary to undertake a 3-day studio residency, focusing on the creation of 3 new stained glass works. Her work will use an eco-feminist lens to bring an endangered heritage craft into a contemporary fine art context.

Amy Jackson explores the connections between climate change, consumerism, mental health, and social inequality. Her bio-art project, Living, expands on her previous work, Living London, which used moss to map pollution, creating an artwork that functions as a self-sustaining ecological system. Living bridges art and science, using soil-free hydration methods to ensure the longevity of the final work.

Bristol-based ceramicist, Chloe Monks, will undertake an artist residency at Cill Rialaig in County Kerry, Ireland. Her practice focuses on material research, glaze chemistry, and phenomenology, to explore the act of thinking through objects. The residency will enable her to integrate mark-making, colour, and embroidery techniques into ceramics, and to develop new work for an exhibition in early 2026.
