Aidan Liggins is a textile artist and workshop facilitator exploring how creativity, traditional knowledge and making with our hands can help us rebuild a relationship with the natural world. Her work is rooted in simple awareness, using tactile processes such as block printing and botanical dyeing to explore the connections between people, materials and our natural world.

My practice begins with the nature on our doorstop. I'm interested in how tactile making processes can invite us to look more closely at the world around us, drawing on folklore, seasonal knowledge and observation to invite curiosity and connection.

This is also reflected in how I make. I work with slow, tactile processes such as block printing and natural dyeing, allowing time and seasonality to become part of the work. Printed textiles and one-off pieces provide an accessible way into the stories and research behind them, while workshops create opportunities for people to explore these ideas through observation and making. My work does not aim to preach about sustainability. Instead, I use beauty, curiosity and participation as an invitation to look more closely. I believe that when we develop a sense of connection and care for the world immediately around us, we become more aware of how we live, what we consume and what we choose to protect.
