    I am a largely self-taught artist, my art practice spanning work with natural colour and experimental and sustainable film photography. I was born in former Czecho-Slovakia and my present art practice is informed by my Slavic roots and folklore cultural heritage.     Creative expression has always been intrinsic to my life having worked with pencil, pen and ink, lino cut, oil pastel,watercolour and acrylics. After retiring in 2017 I followed my passion for mid century design restoring and selling sewing boxes internationally.I then returned to mixed media work in 2021 focusing on alcohol inks on birch ply to enhance the beauty of the wood grain.

    Emma's contemporary oil paintings are a fusion of atmosphere, experiment and memory. She draws upon memories of a time and an emotion to overlay into the overall sense of place, capturing the connectivity and the beauty of nature and its calming influence. She is constantly thinking about colours, contrast and composition and how to create movement and texture in her work.

    I am a multi-media artist based in Yorkshire working in sculpture, performance, photography, video, printmaking and artist’s books. Much of my work is inspired by and takes place in, the landscape around me. Often I am the only audience for my on-site installations, works translated into artist’s books and digitally printed images, crossing the boundary between documentary and primary artwork.

    I am a graduate professional artist with BA Fine Art First Class Honours 2006. I'm inspired by the landscape and create work that abstracts what I see and experience. Often working en plein air I create dynamic & colourful compositions. I'm inspired by abstract expressionism with rapid expressive mark making & striking colours of Fauvism.     Hi I’m a self employed artist/illustrator and art teacher. I run art workshops, create wall and window murals for businesses and educational settings and I create original art /illustration prints which I stock in my online shop and sell at art markets and exhibitions. I illustrate empowered perfectly imperfect women, and I also draw figures exploring the great outdoors. I use inks and collage.

    Sal is known for her expressive portraits that capture fleeting emotions rather than fixed likenesses.     During total isolation, in lockdown, I painted over a 164 artworks up to date. I also took up meditation which allowed my imagination to flow again. It was cathartic and eased the trauma from what was happening in the outside world. Life is returning back to what was before, but with a greater sense of appreciating family and friends, united.

    I am a full time artist mainly working in textiles. I have a degree in Fashion & Textiles from Leicester Polytechnic, but have been working in 'creative textiles' for over 15 years. I have experience of working in the community and in schools, creating large textile installations. I also exhibit my work in various exhibitions and Open Studios. I sell my smaller works at fairs and in galleries.
