    I'm an Artist & Qualified Art Teacher based in Leeds with a master's in Contemporary Fine Arts Practices. My work is inspired by African Art, Rastafarian Culture, and Roots Reggae. I've received the Edna Lumb Travel Scholarship and the Black Achievers Award. My recent public artwork "Church Windows of no Return" is displayed at Leeds Kirkgate Market and textiles at British The British Library.

    I am currently producing work that is a a combination of paintings and mixed media relief pieces that combine embroidery, paper clay, precious metal clay, paper, watercolour, ink and found objects. Each piece is accompanied with a poem about and as a response to the physical work. I also work as a development librarian.

    I am a Fine Artist. I work mainly in painting and printmaking. My work explores colour and currently I am interested in colour charts. I studied a degree in Fine Art at Winchester School of Art and an MA in Printmaking at Bradford School of Art. I have worked in education for many years, both as a teacher and lecturer in Art and Design. I am currently an associate lecturer at Craven College.

    My art practice combines paper collage art and illustration with sharing my creative journey as a self-taught artist.     Rachel (they/them) is a prolific, intuitive artist who has been practicing since graduating in1990 from Central Saint Martins School of Art, London. They follow where their creativity takes them on the day; using sketching, linocut, mono printing, sewing and painting. Having grown up in the Peak District, Rachel has lived in London, Boston and New Zealand and is now loving Norwich.
