Report this?Based in the north west of England, i feel that my work is now starting to break boundaries, which has required letting go of a lifetime of learning in order to just paint. I'm self-taught, using acrylics and more recently new paint technologies to transform commonplace images of females which provide a portal through which to explore both the imposition of form on chaos, and the return to chaos.

Report this?I am a teacher of Geography and until a few years ago I never thought I had a creative bone in my body. I then discovered wood turning and the joy of shaping wood as if it was clay. I have rapidly moved away from traditional wood turning and like to use a variety of non-traditional wood and different materials that enhance the wood. I like form and shape inspired by nature.

Report this?I have lived in West Yorkshire for most of my life. I can remember from being small that I was drawn to nature and the beautiful landscapes surrounding the area I lived in. In 2014, I completed my foundation course in Art & Design at Leeds College of Art. I went onto study Fine Art at Central St. Martins, where my practice became more complex, larger in scale and retained delicate details.

Report this? For me, humanity is the starting point of art. Drawing in all its meanings is fundamental to my practice as it enables a conversation between the idea and myself. Moving interchangeably through drawing, painting, collage and sculpture, I explore the narrative between humanity and the natural environment. I have created a body of work showing how returning to making can inform a sense of place.

Report this?I create drawings and paintings with machine thread, mostly onto furnishing fabrics and mainly using animals as inspiration, often using childhood memories as a starting point . I am inspired by a love of textures and layers and, although this can be achieved with paint, I believe that stitched art can really encourage the viewer to speculate on how the work was achieved.
