Amber Stefani is a Norfolk-based artist and lighting designer working as Amberlights. Since 2014, she has created sculptural lighting for homes and meditation spaces. Her large-scale sensory installations have toured UK festivals and light events since 2018. Her practice combines sacred geometry, colour, reflection, light, sound and participatory creativity.

I am a Norfolk-based artist and lighting designer whose practice explores light, colour, sound, sacred geometry and the emotional connection we can experience through immersive environments.

I founded Amberlights in 2014, initially creating handcrafted sculptural lighting for homes and meditation spaces. My designs transform intricate geometric patterns into light and shadow, creating warm, atmospheric spaces that encourage stillness, reflection and a sense of connection.

In 2018, with support and funding from Canary Wharf, I was able to realise my dream of creating my first large-scale sensory lighting installation. It made its debut at their award-winning Winter Lights festival, where my work gained national recognition and was featured across five national newspapers. I have since returned to showcase my work at Canary Wharf on several occasions and have taken my installations into public spaces, festivals and light events across the UK. My installations now incorporate immersive soundscapes, bringing together light, colour, reflection, movement and sound to create a deeply engaging, multi-sensory experience. They invite people to move around, sit within and interact with the work, and have appeared at Latitude Festival for three consecutive years alongside many other established festivals and public light events.

More recently, I have expanded my practice through in-person gold-leaf mandala workshops. These workshops allow me to share my love of sacred geometry, flowing colour and reflective materials while creating a calm and welcoming space for others to explore their own creativity.

Holding these workshops has helped me reconnect with my own source of creativity and reminded me how much I have to share with others. I especially want to support people who believe they are “not good enough” to make art — an often deeply embedded belief rather than a truth. My workshops offer a calm, encouraging space to build confidence, quieten the noise of the mind and become fully present in the process of creating. There is no judgement, criticism or expectation of perfection. It is about gently letting go of the ego, following what feels natural and allowing creativity to unfold in its own way or, as I like to say, trusting the flow.
