    Milena Makani is a German abstract painter based in London, living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Utilizing acrylics, watercolors and inks on mineral stone sheets, Makani created anatomic and deeply psychological abstractions that lend a visual language to her lived experience with disabilities and permanent pain as she explores themes of resilience, energy, serenity, fragility, stoicism and joy.

    I'm a 53 year old Artist from Yorkshire, i Love to paint what is in my head. I do occasionally like to paint a portrait, usually a personality from a band.     I am a Scottish photographer, filmmaker, artist and educator who lives in Lewes, East Sussex. Being brought up on a farm has contributed heavily towards my practice. I enjoyed a lot of freedom, but my existence was quite isolated which, in hindsight, instilled an ability to work alone and an urge for self-expression.
