I am a second year BA (Hons) Painting Student with the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, Open College of the Arts Campus. My visual arts creation covers drawing, painting and artists’ books.

My artist’s tool for my life-drawing sketches is charcoal, which I use to model the human form on paper. In addition light and shadow allow me to guide the viewer’s eye over and around the human form as if it was a three dimensional sculpture. My work is a continuous study of the various forms of the human body and its various emotional expressions. Drawing is about the pleasure of seeing beauty in the mundane and in turn being able to depict an alchemy between my sketch, my subject and the moment. Expressive application of colour enables me to depict the personal connection I have with my immediate surroundings, which can be anything from nature, especially bird life, to towns or villages.
