Anna Byelova Textiles East Yorkshire, United Kingdom
I create handcrafted patchwork bags using Harris Tweed pure wool combined with leather, organza, yarn, and layered machine stitching. Each textile panel is built from individually pieced fabrics, embellished with textured fibres and netting to create richly tactile surfaces. Alongside bags, I make framed textile landscape collages using fabric, embroidery, and yarn.
I love working with fabric and exploring different textures. Over the past few years I have created patchwork quilts and bags before turning my hand to textile landscapes.
Inspired by the beauty and texture of fabric, I developed a deep interest in creating textile collages. I feel that working with textiles allows me to express my vision through colour, texture and pattern.
In my work, i layer different fabrics to build shade, depth, and richness, capturing the atmosphere of the scenes I creates. Each piece is finished with machine or hand embroidery, adding the final touches that bring the landscapes to life. I take part in exhibitions such as Ferens Art Gallery in Hull, Beverley Open Art Exhibition and The Craft Centre and Design Gallery Leeds.
