Having recently completed a foundation degree in textiles practice at Bradford School of Art, I am now embarking on a new chapter as a textile artist. In my previous life, I was a specialist speech and language therapist, and also an aromatherapist, and I continue to take the same multi sensory approach to my art work, as I did in my previous roles.
My textiles practice is closely woven into my responses to nature, and I love to experiment with different materials and techniques, also being a keen gardener - finding endless possibilities in the materials that I find within the home and garden. With a particular interest in combining processes such as printing, rust dyeing, embroidery and embellishment, my inspiration comes from my emotional responses to my garden and the textures, sights, smells and sounds I find in it.
