    Based in North Yorkshire, I create expressive landscapes exploring colour, light and the boundary between observation and abstraction. Working primarily with soft pastel and mixed media on a range of artists’ papers, including traditional Vietnamese Dó and Điệp, my practice embraces tactile surfaces, spontaneous mark-making and the expressive possibilities of exposed paper.

    I am a graduate professional artist with BA Fine Art First Class Honours 2006. I'm inspired by the landscape and create work that abstracts what I see and experience. Often working en plein air I create dynamic & colourful compositions. I'm inspired by abstract expressionism with rapid expressive mark making & striking colours of Fauvism.     Neurodivergent visual artist exploring embodied experience through drawing, painting and mixed media. My work draws on my background as a former elite gymnast and responds to movement, sensation and mental imagery emerging through EMDR therapy.     Since retirement, I work with textiles most days. I use a lot of up cycled materials and apply paint and stitch to tell a story. I also volunteer with Guide Dogs for the Blind, Scotland. We foster lovely pups, giving them a cosy home as they go through their training.
