    Lauren Dawson is a multidisciplinary visual artist from Northern Ireland, with an environmental focus. Lauren graduated with a BA Hons in Fine and Applied Art from the University of Ulster Belfast in 2008, and a Masters in Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies in 2010, specialising in art curating.

    Ije (eejay) A multi-disciplinary artist with a sensuous, nomadic arts practice fusing personal memory, embodied practice and material intervention.     I am a self taught artist with a long love of cartooning which is evident in my quirky design style and use of bright colours and bold lines. Australian born but now based in North Devon, the dramatic coastline is an important source of my inspiration. I use a variety of printmaking and digital design techniques to create my artwork and surface pattern designs.

    I have been doing abstract art since the beginning of 2023, as a recovering alcoholic (sober for over 10 years now) I use my art as a way of expressing my innermost feelings without having to speak a single word about them. I see my paintings as a screenshot of my soul at that particular moment in time.

    I am currently producing work that is a a combination of paintings and mixed media relief pieces that combine embroidery, paper clay, precious metal clay, paper, watercolour, ink and found objects. Each piece is accompanied with a poem about and as a response to the physical work. I also work as a development librarian.
