    My practice explores the relationship between movement, emotion, and texture through the dual mediums of oil paint and clay.     Hi My name is Tony Cooney i’m based in Stockton on Tees. I’m a self taught artist and work predominantly in Oul Pastels on paper. I also like to use recycled cardboard such as old Amazon envelopes and the outer hardbacks of artist pads. I also work in charcoal and oil/acrylics.

    I am a teacher of Geography and until a few years ago I never thought I had a creative bone in my body. I then discovered wood turning and the joy of shaping wood as if it was clay. I have rapidly moved away from traditional wood turning and like to use a variety of non-traditional wood and different materials that enhance the wood. I like form and shape inspired by nature.
