I'm based in Leeds and currently painting is at the forefront of my practice. The paintings are about the people I know and landscapes that are painted from memories of special places. I attempt to exhibit the work regularly, and curate solo and group shows at 'Gallery 16', a venue in my house. I have also created many sculptures, mosaics and murals for the public realm.

My practice is varied and inspiration comes from a multitude of sources; however the core theme of all my work is to investigate our current mode of society, questioning our attitudes and paradigms. My work is a social commentary; I am interested in using the notions of hyperreality and psychogeography to convey my feelings on social class, technology, the media, self-image and queer theory.

As a child I loved the diagrams in science text-books; the underlying patterns of life described and delineated. Magnetic fields, bee-dances and bird migration; feathers, atoms and cells. Copying in my exercise books, I was immersed in a world beyond the surface of everyday 'reality'. Later, in the writings of Blake, Hesse and Rilke, punk rock and LSD, I found experiences that resonated with mine

I am an animator, embroiderer and arts educator based in Liverpool. I use this traditional craft, often used to mark family occasions and decorate homes, to evoke queer family. My current practice stitches and blends language, words and motifs which connect, root and bind us all. Vocabulary, phrases and speech can give us a sense of community, a sense of belonging and means of reaching out.

I make small ceramic sculptures which combine contradictory qualities of form, colour and texture. These function as metaphors in my work for ideas about perfection v imperfection/ control v chaos in relation to personal identity and a contradictory sense of self. I have an MA in ceramics from Bath Spa University, and have been shortlisted for a number of national and international prizes.

I am a Manchester based artist and I am currently resident at 'Bankley Studios' in Levenshulme. My work is multi disciplinary, encompassing painting, drawing, digital sculpture and animation and is based upon my interest in the often grey area that separates science fact from science fiction.

My work touches on themes of loss, memory, identity, and violence on the human body. In the work that I am currently making I have explored the role of the female figure in domestic spaces. I believe that my mixed heritage has been a rich source for material to work with, though at times it has also created numerous questions within me about my identity, sense of belonging and place in the world.
