Abstract painter with a focus on colour and composition
I combine elements of formalism and hard edge painting with an intuitive and expressive process to create works that initially present as simple, almost graphical objects in terms of compositional structure and colour relationships. On a longer viewing, the different areas in the works interact to suggest subtle rhythms and their surfaces reveal a gentle complexity resulting from the many thin layers of paint that are applied and adjusted in relation to each other.
