I am a Liverpool based painter and a member of Bridewell Studios. My work embraces the mystical and metaphysical. My latest paintings “The Sacred Mountain’ offer the viewer a journey into a place between worlds, bathed in the light of the moon, they are steeped in stillness and a connection to something ancient within the land and ourselves.

I am a teacher of Geography and until a few years ago I never thought I had a creative bone in my body. I then discovered wood turning and the joy of shaping wood as if it was clay. I have rapidly moved away from traditional wood turning and like to use a variety of non-traditional wood and different materials that enhance the wood. I like form and shape inspired by nature.

The main aspect of my work is the exploration of the personal and the collective unconscious through art, putting in its centre not the single human being but humanity as a whole. Dream interpretation is a key element of my creative process, which provides the basis for capturing the non-tangible.
