C.A. Halpin London, United Kingdom
I am based in East London. I work across a broad spectrum of media, based largely in drawing, but encompasses writing, soundscapes, printmaking and installation. I work on solo projects and exhibitions, as well as multimedia collaborations.
Working in friezes has developed as a response to current affairs and daily world events. The large scale pieces, made from smaller elements, are fast moving and contemporary to world events and personal politics. These images, often figurative and small scale individual pieces that together make larger scale works.
They tend to be works on paper, whether drawings or digital collage.
Often at the time of exhibition I invite other artists, printmakers, designers, musicians and choreographers to collaborate with me, exploring and extending the concept of the show through their individual process.
When I invite others to work with me these are all established artists in their own right, but when working with me become The Outside World AllStars. It is part of my ethos as an artist to promote and encourage other artists and different stages in their career.
Generosity and inclusivity are paramount to my overall practise ‘If you are lucky enough to make art, then be generous enough to share it’.
