My name is Harriet Pybus and iv recently spent a lot of time reflecting back on photographs that I have taken over the years. My photographs provide sanctuary from the turmoil of the modern world. Feelings of tranquillity, peace & almost romantic emotions frozen in time, giving an opportunity to stop, breathe and appreciate the world in which we live.
I am a published fine art photographer both national and international.
My practice is rooted in observation, emotion, and quiet connection with place. I am drawn to natural landscapes, coastal spaces, light, shadow, and moments of stillness that can easily be overlooked.
Through photography, I explore memory, reflection, grief, solitude, and the feeling of being present in a fleeting moment. My work is often atmospheric and understated, focusing less on dramatic scenes and more on the emotional weight held within ordinary spaces.
I see photography as a way of preserving feeling — not just what a place looks like, but what it felt like to stand there. My practice is still developing, but it is guided by honesty, intuition, and a desire to create images that feel calm, personal, and quietly meaningful.
My photographs allow time to stand still at a point many of us may have missed, preoccupied with life's chaos.
I wish to give people the opportunity to realise the eternal beauty of the world we live in. My photographs aim to wash away the blindness caused by the chaos and confusion of the modern world.
Forgotten...where the sand meets the sea and the sea meets the sky.
