Helena Fil Lincolnshire, United Kingdom
My name is Helena Fil. I am an artist and artisan from Kharkiv, Ukraine. After the war began, I moved to the UK, where I continue to explore my creative path. Art is my way of processing emotions and expressing what cannot be said in words. I’m inspired by texture, the combination of different materials, lines, and simplicity. I love how beauty can be conveyed not only through traditional painting
I am a multidisciplinary artist working primarily with textured painting and sculptural home décor. My artistic practice combines natural materials such as plaster, concrete, and jute to create minimalist compositions with tactile surfaces and refined details.
Inspired by nature, light, and organic forms, I explore the interplay of texture, shadow, and gold leaf in my abstract artworks. I also handcraft interior objects—like candle holders, coasters, and decorative figures—using casting techniques and sustainable materials.
My process is intuitive and meditative. I often begin with a sense of mood or texture I want to express, rather than a fixed image. I value craftsmanship, and I treat each piece—whether a painting or an object—as a unique, handcrafted work of art.
Through my work, I aim to bring warmth and simplicity to modern interiors, and to connect people with the beauty of natural forms and handmade details.
