    I'm an artist and writer who specialises in photographic engagement with the natural world, particularly the cultural significance of heritage trees. I'm currently a practice-based PhD student at the University of Brighton, conducting research on how interaction with the concept of plant intelligence can help deepen creative engagements with trees and the wider natural world.

    A relative newcomer to the world of art. Winner of the King Lear Prize for Art (Beginners) 2023. Working mostly in acrylics and also pet pencil drawings. I have an eclectic range of paintings from pop art to seascapes, landscapes, cloud studies to flowers. Currently experimenting with pallet knife painting and achieving some interesting results.

    I'm a contemporary visual artist , now resident in Sant' Elena, Venice, Italy. I work principally with drawing, painting, collage, print, photography, digital design using experimental, mixed-media techniques. My career as a creative practioner has been varied; including teaching /lecturing at university level and founder/executive director of the b-side festival on the Isle of Portland.

    I am a painter, educator and scholar. I live and work in Bristol (SW England) and St Davids (SW Wales). I am not a ‘landscape painter’, but my abstract work is informed by both these environments. I am 66, and have one son. I live with my partner and work from home. My studio practice involves close attention to working as locally and sustainably as possible.

    Shona Davies and Jon Klein both studied at Sir John Cass College of Art where they graduated in 2007 with first class honours. They were also joint recipients of the Owen Rowley Prize and John Cass Purchase prize. Klein specialised in Time Based Media and Davies in Printmaking and 3-D. Dave Monaghan studied at Liverpool and Canterbury Colleges of Art where he specialised in sculpture.

    I am a young LGBTQIA+ artist based in the North East of England, currently studying Fine Art (BA Hons) at Teesside University. I grew up in a low income, single parent household, moving from council estate to council estate. This setting and the people in it fuel my art and gave me the drive to be the best I can be.

    I am a graduate of Reading University and the RCA. Currently I have a studio at APT in Deptford, London. I have exhibited continuously since 1977 both in terms of static installations but more recently involving projection onto objects. These include reconstructions of the night sky and orreries using 00 scale model railways. An online catalogue of small works and movie shorts support this.

    I design and make mixed media jewellery from my workshop in Bingley, West Yorkshire. I work predominantly in silver but like to combine other, found materials to my work to add colour and interest. I sell my work online, at contemporary craft shows and through a number of galleries around the U.K.

    Through my work I want to explore the mythological representation of women and how stories have been influenced and reengineered by patriarchy. How women have been written out of folklore and how stories have been changed to fit in with this ideology.
