    I am a Brighton based artist. A working mum who tries to find a time and space to express herself via art. This is passion that has been put aside and pushed down the long to do list. Putting myself first became very important since last year I had a mental breakdown and panick attack. Recently joined the Brighton Women Artists group whose main aim is to promote women from all background.

    I am a mixed media artist and Designer/ Maker I have always been interested in interdisciplinary or mixed-media arts exploring different mediums, i trained in the North East of England at university of Northumbria in Newcastle. recently designing and building structures for festival installation. Studio work at present is creating automata and kinetic structures.

    I grew up in Zambia, studied Classics and Education at St. Mary’s University in London, and later graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a B.A. Honours in Fine Art. As teacher and artist, my interests have often overlapped. I have exhibited in many English and European cities, as can be seen in my CV on this website.     For over twenty years, my practice as a community artist has centred on participation, storytelling, and collective making. Recently, through Arts Council England’s Developing Your Creative Practice fund, I have refocused on my personal creative work - exploring the intersection between Chinese and European folklore, inherited craft traditions, and the shifting nature of cultural identity.

    Poppy Whatmore is a visual artist based in London. She studied an MA Fine Art at Slade School of Fine Art with an Arts Council Award. She was nominated for the Adrian Carruthers Studio Award and won the Aesthetica Art Prize in 2013 .     Michel Ducos is a potter, sculptor and Art facilitator based in Alford, Lincolnshire. Having been a professional potter with his wife, Heather, since 1972 as Alford Pottery, for the last 20 years or so, ceramic sculpture has become an all engrossing activity which sits comfortably alongside the daily pottery work.
