Primarily a Painter. The function of my art practice, has been to chart life's journey: emotional, sensory and intellectual. My recent work seeks to communicate, inspire, and be thought provoking. It is reflective of a quest to find purpose, meaning and joy in life.
NEW WORK THEME: THINK FOR YOURSELF ACT FOR OTHERS The function of my art practice over fifty years, has been to chart life's journey: emotional, sensory and intellectual. An attitude of 'I'm still learning' sums this up. My recent work incorporates a range of visual metaphor, reflecting sensory experience, questioning and enquiry. Relating to this, I am investigating humanism as a rational philosophy, informed by science, inspired by art and motivated by compassion. In this regard, I would like to dedicate my new work to all those who think for themselves and act for others, summed up by: 'We have more in common than that which divides us'. I aim to reflect the values of kindness, community and respect for others, in my work. On a formal level, my paintings explore variations in the use of geometry, symmetry and colour harmony. I hope that the images evoke some positive stirrings in the mind of the beholder, associated with the theme, and individual titles.
