I am a painter that is interested in emotional memory and the part played through dance and music . I also work with abstract themes usually in mixed media . I exhibit and sell my work predominantly at soul festivals throughout the UK. I worked initially as a fashion designer for high street brands then in my early 30 s worked in education as a Head of Faculty for Visual and Performing Arts .

I work predominantly on canvas of different sizes usually in acrylics or mixed media. I have also produced sculptures during the pandemic which were exhibited at York University. My themes are by and large autobiographical and focus on memory and how integral music and dance have been to me , in particular focusing on a love for northern soul music . As I explored the soul scene I soon realised that many of my contemporaries were escaping from trauma just as I had been . My work was used by a company Lovewater to celebrate the Wigan Casino 50 th and was shown on BBC North West . I exhibit each year at major soul events across the country .
