I am a multidisciplinary artist, based in Merseyside, my work explores the themes of fairy-tales and mythology. My artwork is inspired by Medieval tapestries, Victorian children's book illustration and modern Magical Surrealism.
I am an award-winning multidisciplinary artist based in Merseyside. As a freelance illustrator my designs have been sold worldwide for greeting cards, publishing and advertising. I am still illustrating, but away from the restrictions of commercial design, my paintings focus on representing visual narratives. My work lives within the realm of magical surrealism and I have always been concerned with storytelling, often inspired by mythology and folklore from around the world, with particular interest in the journeys of strong female characters and their relationship with enchanted creatures. I paint with acrylic on canvas or board and love creating an otherworldly atmosphere by building layers of saturated colour and pattern. My three-dimensional models are taken from the characters in my paintings and are made from small-batch cast resin, which are then finished and painted by hand. I exhibit my paintings. models and prints regularly, in solo and joint shows and sell through shops and galleries across the UK.
