Nature lies at the heart of Julie Baum's artistic practice. Through a combination of oil painting, pencil, ink, and gold leaf, she creates bodies of work that explore the symbolic and emotional dimensions of the natural world.
Since graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2010, as a jewellery designer and being awarded one of the Best Art and Design Graduates in the UK by Wallpaper Magazine, Julie Impens has expanded her work to the fine art and fashion scene, she has explored a broad range of different media, from metal, to paper, mother of pearls and also fabric.
After specialising in making and selling precious jewellery, seasonally inspired fashion and fine art pieces she is now going back to her first loves: drawing and oil painting.
Throughout the years her work has been exhibited throughout Europe, Asia, Russia and the USA, with publications in magazines, exhibitions, Art fairs and galleries in cities including but not limited to Tokyo, Seoul, New York and Kaliningrad, alongside solo shows in Washington DC, Knokke-Heist and London.
