Paola De Giovanni Derbyshire, United Kingdom
Paola De Giovanni is a fluid artist, photographer and textile designer, graduate of the London College of Fashion, MA-Fashion Studies. She creates colourful and quirky marbling/acrylic pouring art prints. Her work is inspired by geological strata, the concept of layers, "shifting" and waves.
Paola taught herself marbling and acrylic pouring during lockdown, what started as a hobby to keep grounded during challenging months, became a substantial body of work and source of inspiration for her creative practice. Acrylic pouring and marbling are media that allow only a limited amount of control, there is no room for regrets and unlike in a drawing patterns and shapes cannot be erased. The immediacy and fast spontaneous way to blend and move colours come through in my prints, which I sometimes put into digital mirrored repeats to create a symmetrical vision.
Available for workshops, collaborations and commissions from interior designers, art galleries and art buyers for the residential and hospitality sectors. All artworks are available also as velvet/faux suede cushions, silk scarves and home décor accessories.
