    As a studio-based painter I rely on photographic images. These are often those found on social media or then internet. As a gay man I am also interested in exploring the multiplicity of images and ideals we are presented with and redefining the idea of masculinity. My work explores narrative, colour, line, composition, and mark-making to evoke an emotion or develop the narrative within an image.

    Jenny Beard (b. 1994) is a Leeds-based artist from Barnsley whose abstract, textural paintings explore digital aesthetics, dissociation, and working-class identity. Influenced by Action painting, Meta-painting and Postdigital art, she works mainly with oil, acrylic, and mixed media on canvas.

    I resumed making sculpture in 2014 and have since shown sculpture, audio visual pieces and drawing. I am interested in the experiences of new, older artists returning or starting to make art that takes into account contemporary practices. I make constructions that are material and tangible and whose component forms often have a direct relation to the features of the gallery or site.

    My felt 'paintings' are intricate, dynamic works created from layers of fibres, threads, and fabrics. Drawing inspiration from human presence in the landscape, my art also reflects a deep fascination with the tactile richness of my materials. My landscapes explore striking contrasts, weaving vivid bursts of colour and form with subtle, earthy tones and delicate details.

    I am a multi-media artist based in Yorkshire working in sculpture, performance, photography, video, printmaking and artist’s books. Much of my work is inspired by and takes place in, the landscape around me.     I was born in London. I work from my studio in S-W Scotland to produce mostly Modern Mosaic and Mixed media pieces. I have a background in Painting and Sculpture, holding a First Class Honours Dip. A. D. and Post-Graduate Commonwealth Award for Sculpture to India. I formed Kate Anderson Mosaics in 2002, and am a professional member of the British Association for Modern Mosaic.
