I recently completed an MA in Creative Practice at Leeds Arts University, focusing on developing my artistic practice.     I am a teacher of Geography and until a few years ago I never thought I had a creative bone in my body. I then discovered wood turning and the joy of shaping wood as if it was clay. I have rapidly moved away from traditional wood turning and like to use a variety of non-traditional wood and different materials that enhance the wood. I like form and shape inspired by nature.

    I am a textile artist using machine embroidery as my main medium. I work in my studio in Sheffield called 'Stitched Up and Fleeced'. I trained at Bolton Art College Foundation Course 1971-2 , Loughborough College of Art and Design Degree in Stitched Textiles 1975, PGCE Art and Design at Leicester 1976, Member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen since 1996 and awarded a Fellowship in 2013.

    I'm a 53 year old Artist from Yorkshire, i Love to paint what is in my head. I do occasionally like to paint a portrait, usually a personality from a band.     I am a fine art photographer with a love for photography since getting my first camera as a teenager. Initially working as a landscape architect for 40 years till 2015 I decided to change direction to pursue my passion for b+w fine-art landscape photography using both 35mm and medium formats. I believe the strength of black and white is that it allows the very soul of the image to be expressed

    I constantly take photos and use them as source material to make videos and animations and prints and paint. I often see beauty in junk and the forgotten and the in-between. Play and humour and collaboration are important in my work as in my life. I am a quiet environmentalist and try to do my bit for the planet. 
I live with my son, my partner, sometimes his daughter and our dog in London.

    I’m a contemporary artist creating vibrant, textured landscapes inspired by peaceful woods and delicate light. With a First-Class BA Hons in Fine Art painting and printmaking, I now work from my studio in the Peak District. Inspired by nature, I build layers of acrylic or oil with intuitive, impressionist techniques to evoke calm, colour and a blend of abstraction and realism.
