Kara Baah London, United Kingdom
Kara Baah is a London-based artist and physiotherapist whose work explores themes of faith, hope, wellbeing, and connection Through expressive figures, contemplative portraits, and abstract textures, she creates reflective pieces that invite meaningful conversation and encourage emotional and spiritual connection. Her art aims to inspire hope and nurture inner wellbeing.
I create expressive paintings using mixed media, including spray paint, acrylic, and oil paint, often layered over textured abstract backgrounds. I love using spray paint as an underpainting and modelling paste to build texture. These processes help me break away from perfectionism and encourage a sense of creative flow and freedom.
I enjoy working with bright, vivid colours that evoke emotion and energy, creating reflective pieces that invite people to pause, connect, and engage in meaningful conversation. Painting is also a time where I connect with God and treat the process as a form of worship. I allow the Holy Spirit to inspire and guide me as I create. My work is influenced by my experiences in healthcare, community, and faith, and aims to encourage hope, resilience, and inner wellbeing.
