I am interested in all aspects of art, though my first love is portraiture and unravelling peoples stories. I like to use symbolism to create unique individual pockets of someone's world, although invariably it ends up both ways, reflecting my own inner world and what unique input I can bring to the table.
Every project or series ends up having it’s own identity visually, dictated by the subject. My style morphs and changes with the subjects I choose, whether is figurative or abstract. At this moment in time I have changed direction completely in my practice and embarked on two projects , one abstract and one figurative, where I draw from my past in a communist Romania, trying to bring to the present everything I have left behind when I moved to the UK 20 years ago. The project revolves around bringing past techniques and figurative compositions into my current practice, reflecting my own identity while dealing with how age and displacement has altered my vision and drive.
