Lisa Thompson Tyne and Wear, United Kingdom
North East Emerging Fine Artist. I specialise in sculpture, print and illustration.
My work explores the relationship between individual representation and our environment. Through social media and the digital landscape individuals can be trapped in an echo chamber creating an environment of confirmation bias that re-enforces what individuals are presenting as ‘self’ in the contexts of community, gender and society. Through the use of virtual reality and physical space I juxtapose social interactions with impersonal and vibrant forms using installations, video, virtual reality and sculpture. I hope to start a dialogue about what is really being seen and what individuals are really telling us about not only themselves, but the world they live in.
