Originally from California, I have a background in graphic design and was drawn to sculpture through an interest in glass-making. With a BA in 3D Design in Glass from UCA Farnham in 2005, I graduated with an MA in Art and Science from UAL: Central Saint Martins London in 2018. I have an interest in astronomy, physics and light and won the National Open Art Prize, Installation Category in 2017.

My practice questions how the world is put together in terms of energy, forces, form as filtered through human perception. Learning through materials, I create sculpture (glass, paper, plastic, metal) and use photography and printmaking to investigate areas where man and nature intersect. Often this process incorporates periods of research into scientific concepts or site-specific work.

Recently I have been investigating the force of gravity – how we understand it through physics and its effect on our sensory system as studied by neuroscience. Inevitably, gravity also influences our perception of time and reality. I am attracted to elastic and semi-transparent materials that record bending, stretching and tension. I teach glass-making courses from my studio in Surrey, exhibit regularly and work to commission. I am currently artist in residence at Mullard Space Science Laboratory.
