I am a Brighton-based artist with an interest in semiotics, producing concept-driven work with a specialism in slip-cast ceramics. In my artistic practice I explore dualities, most notably success and failure, strength and weakness, containment and release, always embracing ambivalence over conviction.

When I am drawn to certain objects and forms, the associations they carry are interrogated and ways to articulate these ideas explored. Recognisable objects are slip-cast, repeated, repurposed, combined or altered to create works that are deeply personal, but open to interpretation.

My approach is often informed by my long relationship with place and space, shaped by 25 years working as an architect. Ironmongery, tools and construction materials feature regularly in my practice.
