Rebecca Moon United Kingdom
Contemporary glass artist exploring storytelling, memory, place and connection through glass, metal, mixed media and installation. Drawing inspiration from landscape, folklore and personal narratives, my work examines how objects, experiences and environments shape identity and belonging.
Rebecca Moon is a contemporary glass artist based in Lancashire whose practice explores storytelling, memory, place and human connection.
Working primarily with kiln-formed glass, Rebecca combines traditional and experimental processes to create work that captures traces of experience and the narratives embedded within people, objects and landscapes. Her practice is driven by a fascination with how stories are carried across generations, how places influence identity, and how personal memories become collective histories.
Drawing inspiration from the landscapes of Lancashire and Wales, folklore, heritage and everyday encounters, Rebecca uses glass for its unique ability to hold both presence and absence. Layers, transparency and light become metaphors for memory, allowing fragments of stories to emerge and shift depending on the viewer's perspective.
Alongside her studio practice, Rebecca works as an arts educator, workshop facilitator and mentor, supporting people of all ages to develop creative confidence and explore new forms of expression. Engagement and accessibility are central to her approach, reflecting a belief that creativity can strengthen connections between individuals, communities and place.
Her work has been exhibited in London, across the North West and Wales and continues to evolve through collaboration, research and experimentation. Whether creating sculptural pieces, installations or participatory projects, Rebecca seeks to create opportunities for reflection, curiosity and conversation.
