    A relative newcomer to the world of art. Winner of the King Lear Prize for Art (Beginners) 2023. Working mostly in acrylics but also in pencil. I have an eclectic range of artwork from pop art to seascapes, cloud studies and flowers to pencil drawings. Currently I am experimenting with pallet knife painting and achieving some interesting results.

    Lindsey McLaren is an accomplished contemporary impressionist artist. She studied illustration and graphic design before completing a Master of Arts at Northumbria University. Through her artwork, Lindsey explores the beauty of the world around us by creating scenes of nature, landscapes, and urban life, both on location and from studies.     Graduating in 1987 from Maidstone College of Art, with a Fine Arts BA (hons) degree I entered the world of teaching after gaining a PGCE at Bretton hall. My role as art teacher rapidly developed to head of department, head of faculty, to becoming an AST, and deputy head at a SEND School, Recently I was a teacher of nurture after 2 years of art, photography, teaching before retiring in Dec 2024

    I am a visual artist who creates drawing and paintings that explore and express acrobatic movement and embodied experience. In 2022/23, I awarded Arts Council England funding for my project ‘ProPriOception’. I’ve exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, delivered workshops throughout the North West, and completed several Mural commissions for community projects and organisations
