    Ashley Cundall is a Manchester based British contemporary artist best known for expressive urban and architectural paintings, particularly of UK cityscapes and coastal towns. He works mainly in acrylic, mixed media, and watercolour, often combining loose washes with bold line work, using Impressionistic and Expressionistic elements.

Returned to full-time education for MA at Winchester School of Art, and then awarded a bursary for a PhD at Nottingham Trent University.     I mostly paint, draw and print. While usually figurative my subjects are rarely quite human. I'm also interested in landscape that bears the oft-troubling traces of human presence. These are dark times. I feel perpetually shocked that we have ended up here. I try to explore this in my work. I committed to making art seriously late in life. Late enough to do it frivolously.

    Nick Malone crosses art forms to create mystery through broken narratives in paintings, drawings and artist’s books. Initially a prizewinning writer, he abandoned his former life to become a full-time artist. His work has been exhibited across the world, from Tokyo to the United States, including at the Royal Academy, the Carrousel du Louvre and the RSA, and has won various national awards.
