I like to practice exploring sociocultural issues, observing a community, and reflecting upon their identity. Obtaining an insight into other cultures has allowed me to combine my three passions of travel, photography, and pottery while reflecting on experiences away from photographic practice. I am fascinated by how we are all similar despite apparent differences in our desires and goals, as we want to be in a community that allows us to feel included. Now, basing myself in Aberdeen, my goal is to produce an honest interpretation of an idea and emotion through visual communicative storytelling. I am using digital photography and focusing on slowing down the process of taking an image, allowing me to create a relationship with my subjects, enabling every picture in the sequence to carry its own story, as I prefer to capture an aspect of truth about human life and surroundings.
