Monika Tkaczyk London, United Kingdom
My artistic practice centres on stained and painted glass, exploring light as material and metaphor. Combining traditional techniques with experimental surfaces, I create contemplative works focused on presence, energy, and human connection. Informed by spiritual practice and meditation, my art fosters transformation, inner stillness, and shared experience.
Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I specialize in stained glass and glass painting, creating bespoke pieces that capture light and transform interiors. Inspired by the interplay of colour, transparency, and natural illumination, I see glass as a living medium that carries stories, emotions, and energy. Each work I create is designed not only to engage the eye but to invite reflection and connection, transforming spaces into places of contemplation and presence.
Beyond technique, I bring intention and energy into my practice. My background in spiritual disciplines such as Theta Healing, meditation, and energy work deeply informs the way I approach each piece. For me, glass is more than material – it is light, flow, and transformation. Every line, color, and surface is an opportunity to channel clarity, presence, and meaning, allowing the work to resonate with both the viewer and the surrounding environment.
Alongside my artistic and spiritual path, I also have a career in the IT industry. This professional experience gives me a structured, detail-oriented approach that enhances my creative process, combining precision and modern professionalism with imagination and sensitivity.
I continually explore other forms of creative expression to deepen my artistic understanding, including oil painting (studied 2008–2009), pottery (mixed ability, 2019), and experimental art. I began working with stained glass in 2019 and continue to develop my practice at the Macbeth Centre (MAC) in London. This fusion of craftsmanship, creativity, and spiritual awareness allows me to create pieces that are not only visually striking but also uplifting and transformative.
In 2024, two of my artworks were selected for exhibition at the William Morris Society Museum at Kelmscott House, as part of the Macbeth Centre Autumn Exhibition connecting contemporary artists with the historic Arts & Crafts legacy.
Earlier in my career, I also organised a multi-artist exhibition in 2010.
