Short & Few Studio North Yorkshire, United Kingdom
  Back to profiles

Short & Few Studio is founded and run by artist-educator Zöe Louise Platt. Working across book arts, print and paper-based practices, the studio creates contemporary artworks and participatory projects that bring people together through making, experimentation and creative exchange.

Making is the foundation of everything Short & Few does. Rooted in graphic design, contemporary art and over a decade of arts education, Short & Few’s practice centres on artist books and paper-based works, exploring how ideas change through process and dimension. Working with drawing, collage, printmaking, installation and sculptural book forms, the studio explores process, materiality and the relationship between image, object and sequence.

Short & Few believes that making is a powerful way of thinking, learning and understanding the world. Through collaborations with galleries, arts organisations and community partners, the studio uses its artistic practice to develop exhibitions, workshops, talks and creative programmes that encourage participation, dialogue and creative exchange.
