My work deals primarily with the landscapes and built environments in the North of England: I seek to capture the atmosphere and 'feel' of these places in a way that goes beyond description, capturing their essence and creating emotional resonance with the viewer. I’m a plein air painter based in London, my artistic practice is almost exclusively rooted in plein air (outdoor/from life) location based observational painting. I find that through painting outdoors the quality of light and feeling I get from the places I visit comes across in the sense of place in the paintings capturing a moment in time.
