Tim Stubbs Hughes London, United Kingdom
  Back to profiles

Tim is drawn to memory, to its recollection and the private and the intimate clashes of consciousness. He focuses on how work or an installation can present a multitude of meanings and resonances for the viewer.

Starting with personal experiences and memories, he examines the stories we create. Working with photography, performance, and text, and utilising his acting and theatre directing background, he explores the psychological impulses that underpin our experiences, their phenomenological nature, and aims to unpick the various poetic narratives within liminal spaces within today’s world.

His intention is to create a unique presence within the work, a Chekhovian sense of being both private and public at the same time. Through looking at how the self and our identity is formed; how we relate to space and objects; the examination of history; and our interactions with both the internal and external world.
