Based in Keighley, West Yorkshire, I am a multiskilled Artist, Technician and Maker. My practice primarily works within the medium of sculpture, painting and drawing. With a keen focus on creating narratives, I use abstract forms and colourful environments to help visualise what it might look like to observe worlds based on micro and macrocosmic aesthetics.

I am a new mixed media artist, having come to it from a textile-making (including mainly millinery, weaving, spinning, dying, knitting, sewing and lacemaking) background and recently discovered that my making skills can be a good solid foundation on which to build my creative confidence and extend into a textile art practice.

Working across oils, water-based and mixed-media my work fluctuates between pure abstraction and a subtle refence to place or object. Paintings begin with intuitive marks and colour, and are developed over several months, if not years, with several paintings being worked on at a time. The final composition only comes to realisation in the later stages of the process.

Lucy Churchill is an emerging sculptor whose taboo-breaking sculpture is as beautiful & finely crafted as it is confrontational. With a frank female gaze she addresses women’s sexuality and the right to body-autonomy using a visual language that is original whilst referencing diverse cultural imagery.
