Tim Davis is a contemporary sculptor creating one-of-a-kind works from reclaimed timber, resin and cast pewter. Inspired by rivers, geology and the unseen forces of nature, his sculptures explore movement, light and transformation through a process led by the unique character of each piece of wood.

I create contemporary sculpture using reclaimed timber, resin and cast pewter, combining traditional woodworking with experimental casting techniques. My practice is inspired by rivers, coastlines, geological formations and the natural forces that shape the landscape over time.

Rather than imposing a predetermined design, I work in collaboration with the material. Every piece of timber contains its own history, grain and imperfections, which guide the final form. I carve, cast and assemble each work by hand, allowing chance and natural processes to become part of the finished sculpture.

Recent work explores the relationship between solid and fluid materials. Through clear resin, exploding pewter and carefully carved timber, I investigate ideas of disturbance, reflection and transformation, making normally invisible forces visible. These materials capture moments of impact, movement and light, inviting viewers to look more closely at the natural world.

Alongside larger sculptural works, I create a series of wearable sculptures that extend the same ideas into a more intimate scale. Whether wall-mounted, freestanding or worn, each piece is a unique exploration of material, process and place.
