With 12 years of experience in interior design, I create sculptural ceramics inspired by the beauty of the natural world. Combining wheel throwing with intuitive hand-sculpting, I shape organic forms with flowing silhouettes, undulating edges and layered glazes. Each piece celebrates individuality and natural imperfection, blurring the boundaries between functional art and sculpture.

My practice explores the relationship between nature, sculpture and functional ceramics, creating pieces that bring a sense of movement, individuality and quiet beauty into the spaces they inhabit.

With over twelve years of experience as an interior designer, I have always been drawn to objects that tell a story and bring character to a space. Working particularly with period and distinctive properties developed my appreciation for craftsmanship, natural materials and the relationship between an object and its surroundings. This background continues to influence my approach to ceramics, where I seek to create pieces that are both sculptural works of art and objects to be lived with.

My creative process combines traditional wheel throwing with intuitive hand-sculpting and moulding techniques. The wheel provides the initial foundation, but rather than allowing it to dictate the final form, I reshape and manipulate the clay by hand, encouraging flowing silhouettes, softly undulating edges and organic asymmetry. I am particularly interested in capturing the sense of movement found in nature, allowing each piece to develop its own character through the making process.

The natural world is at the heart of my work. Coastal landscapes, weathered shorelines, unfolding petals, seed pods and woodland textures all influence my forms and surfaces. These inspirations are reflected in my Tidal, Botanical and Bloom collections, each exploring a different aspect of nature through shape, texture and colour.

Glazing is an equally important part of my practice. I experiment with layered, flowing glazes in muted, earthy palettes, allowing colours to merge, gather and respond to the contours of each piece. I embrace the unpredictability of the kiln, where heat and glaze create subtle variations that ensure no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

My work sits between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary sculpture, challenging the boundaries of functional ceramics. Whether creating a small vessel, an expressive bowl or a larger statement piece, my intention is to celebrate the beauty of natural imperfection and create objects that invite both visual appreciation and everyday interaction.

Through Victoria Grace Studios, I continue to explore the possibilities of clay, developing a distinctive sculptural language rooted in nature, material experimentation and my enduring passion for thoughtful design.
