    I am a colourist painter, working from my garden studio in Somerset. My work is about landscape including trees, castle ruins, reflections, and seascapes. The emphasis is on colour, light and composition using layers of paint, resulting in a rich tapestry of hue and texture.

    Arabella Ross is an artist whose vibrant paintings and collages blend colour, emotion, and storytelling.  Inspired by nature and guided by instinct, her work is spontaneous and expressive.  Beneath bold colours, Ross explores deeper emotional themes of grief, loss, and transformation. Through symbolic and subconscious imagery, she creates a universal visual language as shared human experience.

    Recent graduate of a first class degree in BA (Hons) Fine Art at the Northern School of Art. I enjoy the process of investigating landscape via graphite, paint, photography and collage. I absolutely love being on location with a sketchbook and pencil. I am Interested in the emotional, historical and environmental aspects of the landscape that give my work purpose and warmth.

    A disabled artist having to experiment using my non dominant hand, I love to capture a feeling or beauty within my art. Charcoal was the very first thing I picked up and I'm venturing from this trying to recycle my "canvas'" and drawing on anything I can find and reuse. I believe my art maintains a stylised appearance on account of the deliberation and consideration having to be factored in.

    I have been painting and exhibiting since 1998 and spent 12 years in Vietnam where I owned a gallery. I am so happy to be back in my native Yorkshire. My recent watercolour and acrylic works concern themes such as Origins, Belonging and the Joy of Life. I believe in the honesty of art and follow where my inspirations lead me.     I work in the medium of film/video and photography. I studied photography before going on to study fine art at Leeds where I specialised in video art. As a filmmaker I've made creative films for Screen Yorkshire and North West Vision in England. My photographs have been exhibited online and in galleries, both in the UK and internationally.
