Scottish artist Yvonne Cavens (Yewbowart) creates intimate sketchbook studies and digital landscapes that weave together animal, floral and River Tweed-inspired imagery — small, thoughtful works with an experimental edge.
I am Yvonne Cavens, a Scottish artist based in Kelso, working under the name Yewbowart. My sketchbook is where I share reflections from my practice as it unfolds. My work is rooted is depicted in what I see and feel, and inspired by animals, florals and landscapes around the River Tweed. I like the slightly unexpected moments. I also create digital works inspired by the Scottish landscapes, exploring color, and atmosphere. I was away from art for many years, and was able to return to it after my daughter was born. Since then the practice has grown slowly and steadily, shaped by attention ,time, and experience. Art has become the voice of my soul.
