Aisha Asghar Lanarkshire, United Kingdom
  Back to profiles

Aisha Asghar is a multidisciplinary artist based across Glasgow and Edinburgh. Her practice includes printmaking, drawing, painting, photography and experimental animation, and explores various themes and acts as a form of fluid expression and taking influence from her worldly observations and reflections.

I would define my artistic practice as an extension of myself. I have varied and wide ranging interests and care deeply about the complex and multifaceted nature of people and the relation this has to worldly observations. My work is influenced by the expressionist and surrealist movements and often delves into exploring identity, memory, and experience and how these relate to one another within the wider context of reality. My practice consists heavily of mixed media approaches and often addresses these themes through reimagined and fictional spaces. I am passionate about using art as a means to prompt discussion and lead to positive change.
