    Dave Mitchell is a Gay artist working predominantly on canvas particularly focused on the pervasive nature of darkness upon a world of colour, as a visual metaphor for mental health challenges in the modern age; primary vision is through the eyes of an LGBTQ+ adult.     I am based in a light airy studio within Art Space Portsmouth, and have links to Manchester and Scotland. I use 'line systems' to create drawings on paper, walls sculptures and light installations. I'm interested in national and international exhibition opportunities.     I am a travel photographer with over 40 years experience. My work is very real, never contrived or retouched, only using natural light and careful composition. I'm never happier then when in the chaos of a new city searching for new images. I create my own limited edition Giclée prints which are mounted and signed. I continues to travel and add to the collection regularly.

My work often involves clay, discarded or overlooked matter embracing a slow process that’s both meditative and deeply intuitive.
