Alexis Parinas London, United Kingdom
  Back to profiles

Alexis Parinas is an artist and facilitator working across moving image, eco-printing, collage, and social practice. Informed largely by the intangible cultural heritage of the Philippines, Alexis' work often explores personal and collective memory, cycles, temporality, and transformation.

Alexis has facilitated workshops with numerous arts organisations, schools, universities, youth groups, and community groups across the UK and beyond, including South London Gallery, Creative People and Places Hounslow, Central Saint Martins, and Wysing Arts Centre. Particularly as a working-class creative without a formal education, they are keen to help foster meaningful arts engagement, especially among young people, marginalised communities, and the intersections thereof.

Their work has been presented at Barbican Centre, Darkroom Festival, not/nowhere, Proyector Festival de Videoarte, and both San Mei Gallery and Millennium Film Workshop as part of Film Diary NYC.
