Anne Bardsley Lancashire, United Kingdom
I’m a determined artist, devoted to creating unique pieces of work that highlight the beauty of the animal kingdom. I aspire to improve my craft and spend every free moment developing my personal style and learning new skills.
I’ve created a variety of artistic styles over the years, which allows me to present the subject in a different way while still achieving the goal of promoting animals. My work either shows a chaotic acrylic background which reflects the mood of the species in the piece, using soft pastels to introduce the animal and bring the work together. Or a pop art style, with bold acrylic paints used to pull focus on the subject matter so the animal in each painting is eye catching. Human elements are added to the animals character allowing the audience to feel connected with them.
Although I use a variety of materials and creative processes for each new piece, my methodology is consistent throughout. My work’s linked by recurring concerns for endangered species, which is expressed by the subject matter in each piece. I explore each animals story with thorough research before approaching a new painting so I can convey on canvas what the animal cannot.
