Anastassia Zamaraeva London, United Kingdom
Anastassia Zamaraeva is a London based sculptural ceramic artist. Anastassia's work as an art therapist has had a profound influence on her art practice, which now rests on the meeting point of art and art therapy.
Anastassia’s hands, in their dialogue with clay, are the heart of her art practice. She is drawn to clay for its ability to reach into the unconscious and draw out past experiences of touch. The act of making becomes an alchemical transformation, turning the unseen into tangible form, imbuing each work with intimacy and tenderness.
This relationship, and her deep respect for the material, sits at the centre of her practice. It allows her to navigate the multifaceted experience of being human, with all its melancholy, discomfort, and humour.
