Emanuela Cusin Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom
I am a visual artist and educator based in Cambridge, UK, with a studio at Wysing Arts Centre.. My practice is currently focused on the concept of uprootedness, materiality and meaning and themes of movement and inertia, vulnerability and resistance.
My practice explores materiality, impermanence, and transformation through cameraless photography and tactile processes. Working with light-sensitive paper, concrete, and discarded materials, I embrace cycles of exposure and erosion, breaking and rebuilding. Through lumen prints, photograms, and material interventions, I investigate how light, time, and touch leave lasting imprints. I have exhibited and collaborated on projects at institutions including Tate Modern, Wysing Arts Centre, the Sainsbury Centre, and Firstsite, with a focus on resilience, visibility, and social structures. Alongside my artistic practice, I am committed to education, facilitating creative engagement and dialogue through workshops and collaborative projects.
