Claire Finlay is a Art and Ceramic artist, currently Studying BA Glass and Ceramics at the University of Sunderland. Claire has delivered creative craft workshops for over 6 years for The Cultural Spring and for the WEA . Claire likes to experiment with a wide range of mediums that she likes to include in her art

I am a ceramic and multi-medium artist who has a passion for experimenting with ceramic techniques, pushing boundaries in all my work. Creating handmade work, I am inspired by memories and social challenges. Influenced by artists such as Gillian Lowndes for her multi medium sculptures and Hans Coper with his sculptural work and experimental firing techniques, I use my own research into alternative firing to complete my work. I have made and sold various craft items online and at fairs; she has also run creative craft workshops for many years. My previous work is inspired by capturing and preserving time in contemporary ceramic jewellery.
