Skye Williams Lancashire, United Kingdom
  Back to profiles

I am currently in my 3rd year of BA (Hons) Fine Art at Lancaster university. My practice is primarily focused around sculpture and installation, but my wide range of skills across a number of media allows my work to often fall into a multi-media catagory. My work is heavily abstract-expressionist.

Skye Williams is primarily a sculpture and installation artist, focused on abstract-expressionism. Her work transforms everyday objects into the obscure, exploring how distortions of sight can affect her artistic decisions. Williams' work is full of instinct and emotive reaction to what she experiences, leaving her work raw and open to be directed by the interpretations of the viewer.

Williams works in a wide range of materials, using whatever she feels appropriate for the project. In the past, she has used clay, wood, glass, and even hose pipe to create interesting and aesthetically pleasing works. She strives to engage in new ways of working with odd and unlikely materials, causing much of her work to also have an experimental aspect.
