Marion Stuart is an internationally exhibiting fine artist based in Norwich, celebrated for her innovative work in paper porcelain. Her practice explores the expressive potential of this delicate yet resilient material, creating pieces that balance sculptural presence with refined craftsmanship. Inspired by narrative and heritage, Marion’s porcelain works embody both fragility and strength, inviting viewers to reflect on the relationship between material, memory, and place. Alongside her studio practice, Marion has established herself as an educator, founding Studiodo a centre of ceramic education and pottery in Norwich leading workshops and projects that encourage creativity across schools, museums, and galleries. She is committed to making art accessible, fostering inclusive environments where participants can explore both traditional craft and contemporary approaches. Exhibiting nationally and internationally, Marion’s work continues to evolve, positioning porcelain not only as a medium of beauty but also as a language of connection between people, culture, and environment. Marion Stuart creates as a part of a collaboration with partner and husband Scott Stuart in the functional ceramics arena using the name HUMBLEYARD a reflection of ceramics based in landscape. They create works referencing Norfolk using the colours and textures of sea, sky and land in our simple functional ware. The name and brand is derived from when areas of Norfolk were divided in Anglo-Saxon times into hundreds, and each was named, and where they live is called Humbleyard.
